Guide for Teachers
What is a Telecollaboration / Virtual Exchange?
Which format is appropriate to use?
To complete the project in 10 hours, it is a good idea to have students work in pairs or threes. Assign the students to different groups according to their interests and ask them to organize weekly online meetings using a video conferencing tool (e.g. Zoom), during which they develop their project idea.
Ask students to document their meetings or ideas and make them available to you so you can gain insight into the process.
You can also ask students to record their meetings and upload them to a secure platform so you have access to the recordings.
The Result of the Telecollaboration / Virtual Exchange
Ask your students to prepare a project presentation together. This can be a collaborative presentation recorded in Zoom, for example. It can be an audio recording superimposed over a presentation (e.g., in PowerPoint, Canva, or Prezi). The result can also be presented as an infographic.
Organize a question-and-answer session in the final collaborative webinar. Following the flipped classroom principle, students should have watched the presentations beforehand.
